Dr. Adam
DVM
Dr. Adam graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato with a bachelor’s degree in zoology. She then went on to Iowa State University, where she received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr Adam grew up on a small farm by Owatonna, MN and now lives in Janesville with her two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys movies, spending time with family and friends, horseback riding, and reading.
Dr. Huus
Dr. Keley Huus grew up on a dairy farm in Southern Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota and received a degree in animal science in 2009 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Dr Huus practiced in Wisconsin in a mixed animal practice before returning to Minnesota and eventually the Janesville area. In her spare time, she enjoys working on her hobby farm and playing with her two kids.
Rita
Practice Manager
Rita has been working as a veterinary assistant with Summers Ridge since 2016 and is now the Practice Manager. She was born and raised in Janesville with her four sisters. She has 4 dogs who she considers her kids. Charley is a miniature dachshund/spaniel mix and Hydro, Gretzky, and Finley are springer spaniels. One of her hobbies includes spending time with family and friends. She is very passionate about animals and gives her all to everything she does.
Tennelle
Tennelle is a Certified Veterinary Technician and graduated with an associate degree in veterinary medicine from Argosy University, Twin Cities in 2006. She has worked with Summers Ridge Veterinary Clinic since 2003 when she first started taking her courses and left for a short time after graduating in 2006 returning in early 2007. She has worked as an intern, extern, Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, and finally a Certified Veterinary Technician after passing her boards. She grew up outside of Madison Lake with her parents and younger brother as well as various pets over the years. She now lives in Mankato with her husband, their 2 cats Anelys and Moustakas, and their puppy Angus. Tennelle enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and grandson as well as listening to live music and taking trips anywhere, especially for Blues music and BBQ.
Missy
Missy is a Veterinary Technician who graduated from the University of Minnesota. She has been working for Summers Ridge for 5 years. She and her husband Tom have four sons Dylan, Luke, Tyler & Hunter. They live in Waseca on a small farm and enjoy caring for a mule, 6 dogs, 2 cats, and 19 chickens. Missy loves hunting, fishing, reading and spending time with family and friends. She had known since she was a child that she would be caring for animals for a career.
Andrea “Andi”
Andi is a certified Veterinary Technician who received her Associate’s of Applied Science in Animal Technology from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado in 2010. She grew up in Fargo, North Dakota and moved to Colorado in 2006. After adopting a dog “Zues” with behavioral issues she decided to go to school to become a certified Veterinary Technician. She worked in the Denver area as a CVT until 2020 when her family decided to move closer to home. Her and her husband Travis have a daughter named Arya. They have 2 cats Achilles and Abby Cadabby, 2 golden retrievers Hank and Daisy and 1 chihuahua Suki Sue. In her free time, she enjoys working on various craft projects, listening to music, reading, going to the lake, camping, and spending time with her family.
Rachel
Rachel is originally from Arkansas but has spent most of her life in the rural Janesville area. She has an Olde English Bulldog named Bella and a rescue terrier mix named Buttercup. Her plans are to continue her education and become a Certified Vet Technician. She has a deep passion and love for animals. During her free time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, baking, spending quality time with her daughter, and spending time with friends and family.
Grace
Grace has been with Summers Ridge since 2018 where she has taken on many different roles within the clinic. She is currently finishing up her sophomore year at South Dakota State University with a major in Animal Science and plans to graduate in May of 2024. She has grown up on a small farm outside of Janesville where she raises Simmental cattle along with a variety of other animals. In her spare time, Grace enjoys showing cattle and riding horses with her friends.
Zabrina
Zabrina grew up in Janesville on a small hobby farm. She has three horses, two goats, and a dog. She plans to continue her education and become a Certified Vet Technician. During her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and spending time with loved ones.
Makae
Makae grew up just outside of Janesville with a older brother and several pets. Makae is a senior at Janesville Waldorf Pemberton. After high school she plans to continue working at summers ridge vet clinic and continue her education to become a certified veterinary technician. In her free time, she enjoys going racing, camping, shopping, horseback riding and spending time with her family and friends.
Nancy
Nancy’s journey in the veterinary profession started in 2001 shortly after 9/11 at Angell Animal Medical Center Boston where Nancy was the Front Office Supervisor for 13 years. During that time she also spent a year working for the MSPCA Law enforcement team as a dispatcher. She worked for a busy small 4 doctor general practice vet in RI for 5 years and a Small Animal ER in Massachusetts for 2 years prior to moving to South Carolina. Nancy and her husband Michael moved to SC in August 2021 shortly before starting with Heartland as Practice Manager of Marion Animal Hospital in Marion, SC. Nancy is now Remote Communications Manager leading & supporting the Remote Communication Team. She works remotely to help practices with recapturing lapsed clients and helping the practices with online booking of appointments. When Nancy is not at work you can find her by the pool, out on the motorcycle with Michael or playing and tending to her many animals. Nancy has a Newfoundland named Rosie, a Rottweiler named Liberty Belle, Bassett Hound Staffordshire cross named Batman & our newest edition, Tater a rescue we took in that someone dumped off in the woods down from our home. We also have 4 loving kitties, Minnie, Cali, Sassy & Miss Puttifoot and we have 3 hens as well.
Katelyn
Katelyn is a Veterinary Technician who graduated from Ridgewater College. She grew up in Mankato, MN with 4 sisters and 1 brother. She has a labrador retriever named Piper and a golden retriever named Cooper. In her free time, she likes to go for enjoying the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and hanging out with family members.
